| I discovered my interest in computer and programming somewhen
around the Mid-Eighties when I first got a Commodore C64. Soon
I was bored of just using the programs other people wrote. That's
how I came to BASIC. At the highschool I made my first contact
with the Apple Macintosh and could never get rid of them ever after.
In 1992 I became the proud owner of a Macintosh LC II which helped me trough the basics of Pascal programming. I was a regular at the highschool's computer rooms and was often the last hope for some "unrecoverable" data. (That is to say I was one of the few with a copy of Norton DiskTools around.) But when the PowerPC 604 hit the market I decided that my LC II as well as my Laptop were too slow and a faster machine was needed. Being one of the first in Switzerland I bought a PowerMacintosh 8500. I was amazed what suddenly could be done in a few seconds. I started to expand beyond programming (eventually stepped over to C) and stretched my fingers out for more... and found the Internet. Fascinated by the possibilities of screen design and its limitations I worked my way through the very basics of design. Readability and Content. Although every person has his/her own interpretation of readability some points are in common. Finding these points is the way to good design be it for the screen or printed documents. I hope we managed to make our pages appealing to the eye and still easy to read. If not, feel free to send me any comment about things that could be done better.
