| My first contact to computers was in the Mid-Eighties when friends from school who had a C64 or an Apple Macintosh Classic at home invited me to play some computer games. I was fascinated by computers ever since and they haven't lost their fascination since then. But is was a long way till I had my first computer.
April 1992 waws the time when i finally bought my first computer, an Atari TT, a system that would become unreplacable to me. In spite of his age of now more than 6 years, the operating system and the software is always up to date and doesn't need to hide behind the "Big Ones" (Apple and Microsoft) because of "resource preserving" programming. (Or have you ever tried to install Win95 on a 6 years old PC with 10 MB RAM and the run a Web-Browser, a Text-Editor and a Graphic-Tool at the same time with reasonable speed. No way...) To prove that TOS-Computer are not dead (unlike the common belief) but are renewed right now is shown in the fact that companies like ASH and Milan Ltd which develop modern software and even hardware. I personally will stick to my system in the future and somewhen expand it with an Apple Powerbook. By the way: All my webpages are developed on the Atari except for scripts and Java applets for which I use a Sun workstation.
